  • 1 tbsp         white miso paste
  • 2 tsp           mirin
  • 2 tsp           rice vinegar
  • 2 tsp           low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp       sugar
  • 1/2 tsp       grated peeled fresh ginger
  • 1 tsp            toasted sesame seeds

  • 2 tsp           dark sesame oil
  • 1 tsp           bottled minced garlic
  • 1 pkg          fresh spinach (10oz)
  • 2 tsp           low-sodium soy sauce

1. Preheat broiler.

2. Combine the first 6 ingredients for the fish in a small bowl, stirring with a whisk. Brush the glaze evenly over the fish. Arrange fish on a foil-lined baking sheet; broil for 8 minutes or until desired degree of doneness. (8 minutes came out slightly medium well for me). Sprinkle the fish with the toasted sesame seeds.

3. To prepare spinach, while fish broils, heat sesame oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add garlic and spinach to skillet; cook 30 seconds or until spinach just begins to wilt, tossing mixture constantly. Stir in 2 tsp soy sauce. (I would use 1 tsp next time. Spinach came out a bit salty).

Yield: 2 servings.
